Job Title: SymptoPro Instructor Trainer

Position Status:  0.15 or 0.25 FTE hourly, non-exempt

The Position

You will serve as the teacher and trainer for our future SymptoPro instructors and as the supervisor for all instructors who are in practicum. Depening on your availability and preference, your work will take approximately 5 hours per week or 10 hours per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Respond to inquiries from individuals and couples hoping to pursue SymptoPro instructor education.
  • Welcome new instructors after registration and provide proper expectations through a course overview.
  • Guide instructors-in-training through the materials, respond to questions and concerns, and give constructive feedback on course assignments.
  • Supervise all instructors as they go through practicum, reviewing their communications and chart reviews for accuracy and competency.
  • Ensure that all instructors finishing the training program fully understand the SymptoPro program and its principles and are prepared to provide excellent SymptoPro instruction to their future clients.
  • Assist the SymptoPro Team with projects on an as needed basis.
  • Attend monthly virtual Team meetings.

General Responsibilities

  • Follow the protocol, policies, and procedures of the department and agency.
  • Maintain accurate documentation on a consistent basis.
  • Complete and submit reports as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information and comply with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Provide culturally responsive services that are equitable, respectful, and relevant to people from a wide variety of cultures, backgrounds and orientations.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required.

Education / Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of the SymptoPro Instructor Training program.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals and couples.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong commitment to the SymptoPro Education Program Principles on human sexuality, marital love, respect for life.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with adults in community education programs in the sensitive area of sexuality.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Ability to meet consistent attendance.
  • Able to consistently enter data accurately.
  • Have effective and flexible communications skills.
  • Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and instructors online and on the phone.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Skills to use a personal computer and various software packages.

Working Conditions

  • Work performed in an office may require extended periods of computer and phone usage.
  • Data entry for moderate periods of time.
  • Sit and/or stand for moderate periods of time.
  • Able to effectively communicate and exchange information.
  • May be required to work flexible or non-standard work hours including weekends. 
  • This position is 100% remote.
